360 Sabian Symbols : 360 Crystal Elements
Published 5/14/06

Crystals and other elements mark anniversaries, days of the week and even represent countries. Most people know what their birth stone is. The origin of birth stones is attributed to the Breastplate of Aaron which held 12 stones and a great deal of energy and power. In a similar way, understand that our birth stone or gem is considered lucky, the power of the gemstone enhances our native talents and attributes, and energises our life. I had not seen a list of crystals for the sabian symbols and wondered why not? Well, the fact is no one had created such a list. I felt a strong pull to devise such a list and once I started, it only took about a week to complete. I was mindful that there are not 360 crystals, so incorporated various elements that include minerals, gems, metals, elements from the periodic table, rocks and stones - the mineral kingdom.

Other lists corresponding to the sabian symbols include: Numerology, simply 1-360; 360 body parts that Solar Fire astrology software produces; 360 key words from Dr Marc Edmund Jones; 360 colours from the astrology weekly website and 360 geographical locations, again from the astrology weekly website.

It became obvious which mineral/gem/metal, let's call them "Element", went with which symbol, but I still felt I needed the confidence and approval to undertake such a task. When I got this message from Lynda Hill, I had the motivation and "permission" I was waiting for.

“Marina, this idea is brilliant and would add brilliantly to the database of knowledge we have about the Symbols and you're just the person to do it! Great!"

Some simple examples of corresponding Symbols with Elements are listed here:

Taurus 30

Sabian Symbol
A peacock parading on a lawn.
Element
  Peacock Ore

Peacock Ore is a brilliantly iridescent colored blue, green and purple like peacock feathers. It is a root chakra stone, which clears the mind, aids in concentration and promotes beauty through self confidence.
Aries 9
Sabian Symbol
  A crystal gazer.
Element
  Quartz Crystal ball

Quartz comes in many forms, but for this symbol a spherical crystal ball is required. Quartz is very powerful enduring crystal and carries many attributes; specifically in this symbol we acknowledge the thought and psychic enhancing qualities in particular. Quartz crystals have long been used successfully in scrying, channelling, divination, dream recall and dream work.
Aries 29
Sabian Symbol
  A celestial choir singing.
Element
  Celestite

Celestite is a beautiful, delicate, heavenly, sky – crystal blue (due to the strontium in the mineral). An angelic stone, it connects to all the heavenly realms and higher consciousness pursuits. A great stone for clear communication. It was a simple decision – Celestial – Angels – Celestite, I love celestite!
Virgo 23
Sabian Symbol
A lion tamer in the circus.
Element
  Yellow Sapphire

When creating the list, I saw a vivid image in my mind's eye of a Lion's bright golden eyes, and of course felt the strong yellow Leo energy vibrating within this Virgo symbol. Yellow Sapphire promotes wisdom, wealth and fame and acts as protection. As it happens with most of the Elements, the Element heals the associated body part, which for Virgo 23 is the Liver. Traditionally, Yellow Sapphire is used for healing the liver area.
Scorpio 6
Sabian Symbol
  A gold rush.
Element
  Gold Nugget

Native Gold in nugget form holds boundless energy. It brings vitality, confidence and is active in mobilising people. It helps the "owner" gain attention and manifests goals into practical reality.

Since devising the list I have "tested" the uses of the Elements, suggesting people in trouble get their Sun or North Node Element. Most people find they actually have their Sun Element already, or have a desperate desire to obtain it. I hope people look at their personal symbol Elements to "see" if they can see how it is important to their life and use them to energise themselves.

Also, I think that if we want to enhance a specific symbol in our life, maybe angel energy, happiness, love or prosperity, we can meditate or acquire the corresponding Element to draw that in for us. In a way, by associating a crystal with a sabian symbol we may also gain more specific knowledge about the crystal's energy, mirroring the Sabian Symbol image into the associated crystal.

I would like to add as an aside that it is by no means necessary to try and obtain all Elements in perfect form, and that a great deal of benefit can be obtained from looking at a picture or touching a stone in the natural environment. Some of the elements are nearly impossible to come by easily so look to other elements that belong to your natal chart and work with those.

What are your personal Elements and how can they help you in your daily life, aiding in protecting, and enhancing your life?
