All meditations are not structured the same. This offering may be argued to be other than meditation, for it does not dictate how to sit, stand, lie, breathe or such. Yet, having practiced it, I find that the effects are very meditative. In fact the outcomes are wide, depending on the length of time given to this meditation. There is no right length of time. If you can let it go as it will, it is possible to ride with it beyond the initial invocation of the meditative state to the actions of the day or night, even if initially visited for only a short time. May you enjoy your Meditation of the Spiritual Heart. Each individual person has a beat and a rhythm. We feel and can hear this in the heart, the pulse, and the flow of fluids within the body. It is also known through studies that the heart beat, and thus the body’s beat and playing rhythm can adapt to another’s beat and rhythm, allowing two hearts to beat in unison - communication. While the body adapts to external beats and rhythms there remains a spiritual heartbeat and rhythm which remains true to the individual. This beat and rhythm are eternal, but not without variances. As the individual is a symphony within a larger Universal musical body, it plays and focuses upon pertinent sections of its song in order to better know that part of its score. At any given time the spiritual heart may be playing deejay to the many songs of the soul, if only we are willing to listen to it and feel it within the physical heart. Perhaps the best time to hear your spiritual heart song is as you awake. Before physically arising, take some time to hear your heart. It is not necessary to train the ears to the beats of the physical heart, but that may be a place to begin. Just don’t harness it, but allow it to flow into the spiritual beat. Without judgment and direction, allow the beat to flow. It will be the one that becomes easily repetitive. Allow the spiritual heart to play its beat as long as it will. Confining it to a musical style of any particular time, culture or expectation will begin to close it out. To hear it honestly is the only way to hear it at all. The beat may play for a while, becoming refined within the context of the physical heart, allowing the physical heart to adapt to it. As the two begin to play as one, a rhythm may unfold with the beat, again beginning in a repetitive manner to fit the beat and allow the physical pulse and fluid flow to adapt. The more time allowed, the further the symphony will unfold, adding bridges and movements to the symphony that is You. You are in communication with your Greater Self. Your wisdom will gently bring your awareness back to a physical focus, yet the communication with the Greater Self will linger. It may be easier to retain connection to this source of information and energy when confronted with the daily bombardment of other beats and rhythms being imposed upon your path. A few moments of intention to reconnect with the spiritual heart can bring back the centeredness and balance when the bombardments begin to wear it too far away. The beat may differ from the one heard in the early hours of your day, but the sense of connection will remain intact. It’s just a different song from your symphony offered to help you work with the external beats, or gently protect you from the invasion. Reconnecting with the spiritual heart before sleeping, allowing the spiritual symphony to lull you to altered awarenesses can unleash many levels of wisdom and magic through the time through which you sleep. This can release tears and smiles, separately or together as the given songs play out. These are gifts. Try to accept them. If a tune is playing in your head when you awake, or sticks with you through the day, rather than cursing its persistence, try tuning into the spiritual heart, for it is likely trying to communicate and spend time with you.
